Some bad effects on the planet
I. Introduction :
Environnement is the world of land, sea and air that you live in. Since the beginning of the 20th century, we seem to hear of other problems affecting the environnement: pollution, acid rain, climate changes, the destruction of rainforests and other wild habitats, the decline and extinction of thousand of species of animals and planets. Human activities have a strong impact.
II.Global warming:
Global warming is the observed and projected increases in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans. The Earth's average temperature rose about 0.6° Celsius (1.1° Fahrenheit) in the 20th century, see temperature graphs below. Global Warming has become perhaps the most complicated issue facing world leaders.
1) The causes :
a) Pollution
Pollution is a man-made cause of global warming. The air, water and soil of habitats all over the world have been, and are still being polluted in many different ways. This pollution affects the health of living things. Oils spills pollute sea water and kill marine life; chemical waste from factories and sewage works, and artificial fertilizers from farmland, pollute river water, killing wildlife and spreading disease. The careless or deliberate dumping of litter in the environment is not only unsightly but dangerous for wildlife too.
2) The effects
a)Destruction of the ozone layer In the 1980s it was discovered that 'holes' were appearing in the ozone layer above the Antarctic and Arctic. Gases used in the manufacture of aerosols and fridges, are believed have been responsible for destroying the ozone layer.
a) Some impacts from increasing temperatures are already happening. • Ice is melting worldwide. • Decline of the penguins in Antarctica, where their numbers have fallen from 32,000 pairs to 11,000 in 30 years. • Sea level rise became faster over the last century. • Some butterflies, foxes, and alpine
