INTRODUCTION
There is an unacceptable high consumption of alcohol in our society today. In all the classes of the society, we can find some alcoholic persons even in schools and universities. This is a plague we will approach in our work. Then we will present the problem, his causes, his consequences and we will propose solutions to resolve it.
1) ALCOHOLISM IN SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT : THE CAUSES
Many students begin by consuming alcohol only on social occasions. Drinking usually in moderation may have no immediate adverse effect. Nevertheless the social drinker can with time become dependent on alcohol, having to take large amount everyday. He has then become an alcoholic.
Some others start drinking because of their friends. In fact they want to resemble to their friends who drinks. So bad companies impact negatively pupils and students. There are also some who drink because of their troubles. In effect they try to submerge they sorrows by being drunk. At last alcoholism may be caused by antecedent: if one of the parents drinks a lot, the child can do like him/her.
2) THE CONSEQUENCES OF ALCOHOLISM
The abuse of alcohol by teenagers, scholars drinking in schools, campuses is much more a serious problem than we can imagine. Drinking causes unptiful damages, cases of hospital admission, death rates from diseases; cirrhosis of the liver, cancer of the lung and so on. This suggests that alcoholism and its problems are a plight no less serious than diabetes, AIDS.
Furthermore, alcoholism put the future of young alcoholic in danger. Firstly they won’t progress at school because of their bad habit or their performance can be reduce because of drinking. Secondly they will do nothing else than buying alcohol with their miserable money.
