SLAVERY

I would like to make a few comments concerning slavery in America. Slavery in America seems to be a form of unfree labor intended to humble the slave but unfortunately that’s right. I’ve read recently that according to the law, slave owners could be fined for not punishing recaptured runaway slaves. We also punish the slaves if the wanted work is slow. Who can explain such a shape of humanity ?There’s nobody, not even a politician, not even a religious, not even a wise man and certainly not a slave. No such a thing and even in the world should have existed. What is the problem ? The wealth men are lazy ? Or grasping ? Slavery was already abolished in some countries as San Domingo or again in France, in Mexico, in England, in Netherlands and peacefully otherwise. What are they waiting for ? A bloodshed, a revolution ? I don’t know. They wish a slaughter ! I hate to say this about us, but it’s disturbing. It’s a necessary question, I find. Don’ you ? We are in full war, in full civil war, the secession war ! That conflict was for what ? For the abolition of slavery the nature of this opposition, this is the abolition of slavery. It’s a joke ! Do you imagine ? We make war to abolish slavery. It’s a frenzy, its rubbish, this is really rubbish. Your will thus understand that our strength draws from our solidarity.
People fight for childish quarrels but the worse, it’s that they did not choose it. The real culprits are the ones who proclaimed war but on the other hand, they don’t participate in it. Those people like violence when it is exercised by others. They don’t realize consequences of their acts, because of them, the nation divides between the North and the South and nevertheless this country is well named United States. But if it’s necessary to make war to abolish the slavery, let it be.
