INTRODUCTION : We are going to present you the conflict between Russia and Georgia. This conflict lasts for few years. In a first part, we will give you the history of the conflict and in a second one, ….................... First of all, we are going to evoke the geographic localization Georgia. This country is in north west of Middle East and in the South of Caucasian mountains which separates it of Russia. Moreover, Georgia seems to be a bridge between Europe and Asia and between Black Sea and Caspian Sea which encourage the movement of people and the mix of populations. As a result, Armenians, Russians, people from Tchétchenie, ossetians populations , etc live together in Georgia. Ossetia is a part of Georgia which suffers for several years from conflicts with Georgia. Georgia was victim of many invasions. It asked Russians help in order to protect the country of Persians invasions. After, Georgia became a protectorate (decided by Russia). But in 1801, Russia decided the annexation of Georgia. In 1918, Georgia proclaimed it independence thanks to the end of Ottoman empire but in 1921 Russia declared once more the Soviet republic of Georgia. I) HISTORIC In the 1830's, the Russian empire with Staline decided a new division of Georgia in several communities according to the different populations existing. Thus, Abkhazia , territory of the West of Georgia became Autonom Republic of Abkhazia.and Ossetia has been divided in 2 political areas: South Ossetia in Georgia and North Ossetia in Russia. In 1989, south of Ossetia proclaimed it unification with north of Ossetia. At the dismemberment of URSS in 1991, Georgia became once more independent which raise the problem of independence of the two autonomous republics (Abkhazia and Ossetia). As a matter of fact, both wanted to keep its autonomy given before under Staline Regime and wanted to be attached to North of Ossetia that is to say to Russia. Georgia finally declared the revocation of independence of South Ossetia
