The arabic révolution
1) which countries are involved first tunisia with ben ali who s been ruling the country for 28 years. Poverty, misery. Articles show that the entire country was corrupted. Money issues. Abuse on every single business whih owed a percentage to ben ali’s wife or the family. Referred to as a almost mafia (because they don t kill each other) people in the Streets : army response : few deaths, the world became aware and the révolution was on ! just an exemple :mc Donald s is not in tunisia just because of the ridiculous amount demanded by ben ali s wife on the chain’s profits there. They refused.
Not to mention the control over the media and the tortures unveiled lately on opposing party activisits…
The result now is : the couple fled with 1,5 millions in gold in a private jet that flew them to saoudy arabia.
Then came égypt.. same kind of issues but with a lot more people in the Streets, bloodier response of army : hundreds of deaths : révolution on/ after Learning about ben ali s personal fortune in tens of millions, the world knows that égypt. S président Moubarak is around 70 billions… a whole country stolen by one powerful man in power for 30 years ! this président took longer to flee
Then now lybia with ruler Kadhafi but this time, the ‘president’ is a soldier who , we now know, hired mercenaries to clean the street of contestants : thousands of deaths ! the whole world speaks of crime against humanity. A real slaughter and Kadhafi claims he will save his country against the revolt… it s not over and little space is given in the press to algeria and yemen that have their own révolution right now but the horrible deeds of Kadhafi takes all the world s attention.
One country seems to take an intelligent path but one may assume it s only to avoid the catastrophe : saoudy arabia whose président just took measures to help the needy in the Streets. better accesss to food/ éducation and médical care (1 month ago)
