What happened after the first demonstration over tuition fees reform ?
After the student protest over tuition fees of the 10 November who turned violent , The government and some media criticized these protests which were very violent, some windows of the headquarters of the Conservative party at Millbank tower were broken, many other incidents took place , two main reasons to explain this ; the extreme dissatisfaction of students over tuition fees reform, and the fact that the police has under considered the movement, expected for 20000 students while it was more than 50000 students in London’s streets.
Public opinion was shocked by these unusual kind of demonstrations , however people understand that this reform is unfair , the rise of tuition fees will be an obstacle really hard to overcome by the poorer students to accede at university.
In continuation, Prime Minister David Cameron said that he wouldn’t abandon his position and that there is no other way, answering about Labour’s attacks , he says wait their solutions, and that they took this issue only to serve their interest before that of the students.
But Labour and students’ angry focus more on Lib Dem who before forming the government coalition had promised that there would be no increase of tuition fees, leading a lot of students to vote for the Lib Dem, it is one of reason of the power of the movement, the students feel cheated by the one that they call now "the liar" Nick Clegg
And as Labour member Harriet Harman reminds it “In April, he said that increasing tuition fees to £7,000 a year would be a disaster. What word would he use to describe fees of £9,000?"
Nick Clegg and his “Big society” popular project , a new look politician who brought at the United Kingdom a hope of a new way to do politics, who is now the lower in polls , defended himself arguing that this reform does not correspond to the ideals of the party but he wasn’t aware of
