The first thing to bear in mind is that only dogs and cats are allowed to be imported into China, with some cities strictly banning pet imports altogether. Secondly, customs regulations differ from city to city and in time, it is therefore advisable to ensure you are up-to-date with current regulations prior to bringing your pet into China. ACCOMPANIED baggage you will need… Owners must enter into China with a valid visa: ‘Z-type’ visa (NOT tourist status) Customs Declaration Form for Incoming Passengers (distributed in the airplane). Tick ‘Yes’ at column No. 13 to inform Customs at the ‘Red’ passage upon arrival that you have a pet as accompanied baggage. Pet Rabies Veterinarian Certificate (made under your name as the owner) endorsed by a government vet or official quarantine bureau at origin. Vaccinations should be done within the last 12 months but not less than 30 days before the import date. Pet Health Certificate (made under your name as the owner) valid for not less than 15 days prior to the import date and endorsed by a government vet at origin. NOTE: Following Customs clearance, your pet will be kept for Quarantine Clearance and inspection for a minimum period of 30
