The plagiarism ( 236 Words ) A lot of universities are getting problems with their value because of the high percentage of students cheating. The issues most often debated involve what constitutes cheating, why some students cheat, and what are the effects on society.
Generally, too many people take for granted that everything in life is an easy game. According to Tim Dodd, executive director of Duke’s Centre for Academic Integrity, `` That’s what students are doing in classes if they’re cheating or plagiarizing – they’re trying to get the good grades without actually putting any effort.`` People should realize that in life it’s not by taking shortcut that you will get success because even if they have a diploma, they don’t have the skills. Consequently, without the abilities, they will not be able to do the job that they were studying in correctly and people will lose faith in those persons. Stephen Covey, author of the Speed of Trust warns employers to think twice about giving cheating students the benefit of the doubt when looking for new recruits’ .Obviously if they don’t want to be dealing with fraud, the companies will need to see if the person really gets the talent and the knowledge base to the job before hired them. Finally, people who cheat get the degree but not the education and also they are dishonest person.
