Thanks to a merger on April 1997, Camden Property Trust acquired Paragon Group, Inc, a Real Estate Investment Trust based in Dallas. In the following year, the company kept growing and completed a merger with Oasis Residential Inc. Two years later, the company announced a merger with the Summit Property, Inc, specialized in the management of luxury apartment communities. In 2007, Camden acquired two new properties: Camden South congress located in Austin, Texas and Camden Royal Palm in Brandon, Florida. These 252 and 353-appartment home community contributed to a significant extension of the company’s business portfolio.
