DIABETES

Goodnight, I'm here to talk you about a disease that is causing many problems in Spain, the diabetes.
We say that a person has diabetes when he has high blood sugar.This high blood sugar produces the classical symptoms of polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (increased thirst) and polyphagia (increased hunger). There are two types of diabetes.
Type 1 : results from the body's failure to produce insulin, and presently requires the person to inject insulin.
Type 2: results from insulin resistance
And the insulin is essential because is an hormone that regulates the quantity of glucose in our blood.
The World Health Organization reveals that they were more than 171 millions of persons affected by diabetes in 2000, (or 2.8% of the population) and an article taken from “Global prevalence of diabetes “ estimates that they will be 370 millions in 2030 (6,1% of the popolation)

The affected person has to follow a very strict regime with little sugar, so he can not enjoy the food.
On the other hand, it's an expensive disease for the government who has to invest a lot of money in his health system. And sadly the general population has become more obese and consume more sugar

Solutions
Taking everything in consideration, diabetes is obviously a health issue, but I think we can reduce the number of affected persons in the future if we convince the society to consume less sugar products. As I see it, this would be the solution .
