Bong joon-ho
Bong Joon-ho was born on September 14, 1969 in Seoul, South Korea. He is a famous director and screen writer. Bong's father was a designer and his grandfather was a famous author. He was inspired by his artistic family, when he was in his middle school that he will become a director.
While in 1980s, studying in Yonsei University his major subject was Sociology and remained as a member of film club. His favorite artists were, Edward Yang, Hou Hsiao-hsien and Imamura Shohei. He completed his two years studies in Korean Academy of Film Arts. Suring his career he made many 16 mm movies and his work was displayed at Vancouver and Hong Kong international film festivals.
He also directed the short movie, "White People" and another partial comedy and partial crucial social movie, "Barking
[pic][pic][pic]Dogs Never Bite" made him known in his own country and later with true story based on a serial murder was, "Memories of Murder" in 2003.
In 2006, movie, "The Host" set a record after being viewed by ten million people and was received well at Cannes Festival.
In 2008 he directed the movie, "Tokyo!" along with Michel Gondry and Leos Carax. At present he is directing movie, "Mother".
